Dr. Kanazawa is President of the Science Council of Japan.  He is a graduate of the Medical School, the University Tokyo and is a clinical neurologist. Prior to his current position, he served as a director of the Tokyo University Hospital from 1997 to 1999. Since 2002 he has been a professor Emeritus at the University of Tokyo, and Consultant Medical Doctor for Royal Families. He has also served as President at National Center of Neurology and Psychiatry since 2003.
