Servet MARTINEZ Aguilera is President of the Chilean Academy of Sciences.  He is a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Chile at Santiago; and Director, Center for Mathematical Modeling, University of Chile-CNRS.  He holds a doctorate from the University of Paris.  He was awarded the Prize in Mathematics from the Third World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) in 1999.
